Concept:
It was obvious that we needed to make the Dale Friend pedigree the focus of this week’s ad for two reasons:

1. Dale is known for his exceptionally good eye, and most ad readers know that any coin pedigreed to him is likely to be very nice (such as this one, for example).

2. The fact that the name Friend is also a word provided rich raw material in popular phrases and famous quotations for our team of numismatic ad caption writers.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
Ultimately, it came down to a few phrases involving the word friend, including:

"Best Friend."

In retrospect, that one was probably better than the one we picked for the final ad, but for some reason we didn’t think so at the time.
