Maris 63-r, W-5370 variety, Spring Above Plow type per Redbook and PCGS parlance. Considered to be Rarity-5.

And this is a lovely, wholesome, totally original and extremely eye-appealing example with about the nicest golden brown color one could ever hope to find on any colonial copper.

Just a couple of minor marks and old lines bear mention, but they are hardly distracting on a piece which is unanimously regarded as the finest known example of this tough variety.

CC #1 and the primary plate coin in the superb reference New Jersey Coppers by authors Roger S. Siboni, John L. Howes and A. Buell Ish, in which this coin is described as the only surviving example graded above XF.

Certainly an important opportunity for the NJ specialist, and one not likely to be repeated anytime soon.

Ex Byron Weston Collection.
