Crosby VIII-26, Freidus 3.3-D, W-8285, considered to be solid Rarity-7 with just 8 examples known.

While most Higleys have some sort of issues (natural flaws, corrosion, porosity, pitting, bends, graffiti, test cuts, dents, evidence of cleaning, verdigris, a hole and/or plug, etc., etc.) this nice, medium brown specimen is among the most problem-free examples we've ever seen or know about.

And while this piece is well worn, it does display an unusually bold deer, a complete axe, a full, legible date and a smooth untroubled planchet and, in every way, compares very favorably to the recent like-graded example at the recent Goldberg auction which hammered for $37,000 (that's $43,475 with the buyers' premium) here.

Ex Heritage's May 2014 sale of Eric P. Newman Collection, lot #30369, where it realized $54,343.75.
