Miller-21 variety, dies by Édouard Roiné, struck by the Medallic Art Company to commemorate the 1808-1908 Centennial of the Catholic Diocese in New York.  7.83 Ounces of 24k Gold.  76mm in Diameter.

And this is a superb, large scale, beautifully engraved piece with an elegant view of St. Patrick's Cathedral on one side, and the portrait of Archbishop John Farley surrounded by his six predecessors on the other.

Said to have been struck for presentation to Pope Pius X, but never delivered to him.  The first striking in silver was presented to Archbishop Farley.

The piece itself is a fantastic, original Roman finish proof with the superb surfaces one would expect at this lofty grade level.

In all, one of the finest pieces we have ever offered, combining superior aesthetic quality, ultimate rarity and historical significance.
