A stone cold gem, one of the nicest examples of any date of this type that we have ever seen (and trust me, we’ve been looking).

Oh, we have seen a few others graded higher, or called "RD" by the services, but those are invariably coins which have been cleaned and conserved and for which we wouldn’t pay anything. Literally.

This one is original, and beautiful, with 5 – 10% real mint red remaining in the legends and devices, and absolute claims to an even higher grade.

And that’s frankly pretty impressive on a 256 year-old coin.
