S-3728, Fr-355, KM-604 variety, a neat issue that is always in demand for its magic 1776 date juxtaposed against the traditional portrait of King George III.

And this is about as nice as this issue comes.

In fact, we like this one better than the MS62 [NGC] example that sold for $4,140 as part of Goldberg’s ‘Millennia Collection’ auction. That same coin had previously been offered as lot #215 in Goldberg’s May 2003 auction of the Jacob Terner Collection, at which time it was graded AU58 [PCGS]. Just like this one.

Regardless of the numerical grade applied, this is a lovely, lustrous piece with choice color, slightly proof-like fields and a great look.
