Miller NY-180 variety, John K. Curtis Jeweller and Numismatist.  Struck in Copper with a Reeded Edge.

Always a popular issue, with an obverse colonial-era numismatist intently studying coins surrounded by the legend A REAL ANTIQUE, BUT ALAS! IT IS INDECYPHERABLE, with THE ANTIQUARY 1859 below.

While the reverse is a defacto business card for JOHN K. CURTIS, JEWELLER AND NUMISMATIST, 83 BLEECKER ST. N.Y.

And this is a lovely Choice RB Unc. with prooflike surfaces and fantastic rainbow toning on the CURTIS side which comes alive when you twirl this piece in the light.

Ex Q. David Bowers Collection.

This coin is from the CRO archives and is not currently available for sale.
