January 4, 2010: "Under the Sun"

Concept:
Seeing as how this ad will appear in the special FUN Show issue, we wanted to do something which would let people know where to find us in an especially eye-catching way.

Which lead us to this ‘FUN in the sun’ graphic (since the show IS in Florida, afterall), and a coin and caption which successfully (we think) tied the whole thing together.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We knew we were going with the sun table # graphic, but the original caption was going to be "Weather’s fine, Wreath you were here.", a play on the ubiquitous ‘Weather’s fine, wish you were here.’ postcard all of have sent from somewhere warm to ridicule snowbound friends at least once in our lives.

However, this was determined (by my wife) to be too obtuse, as it required the reader to ‘get’ the postcard angle and make the slightly stretched wish-Wreath connection.

So we went with the more straightforward version in the final ad.

In retrospect, we wish we had gone with the less cluttered "Maybe the nicest AU Wreath Cent under the sun.", but it’s too late now.
