October 25, 2010: "You Tarzan, too"

Concept:
While we have handled our share of interesting numismatic items through the years, this piece – featuring not one but two grass-skirted wildmen – might be the most caption-friendly of all.

Which we decided to highlight with our guest author’s imaginary (though possible) conversation between the two guys on this coin.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
My first thought was to use some sort of silly caption poking fun at us like "That’s Wnuck on the left, Agre on the right." (making sure that I stuck Wnuck with the guy on the left since that grass-skirted wildman has larger man-boobs clearly evident in our photo), but decided that making ourselves the focus of the ad was more self-aggrandizing than self-deprecating.

Next we migrated toward our guest author’s various other SNL skit-inspired ideas, starting with "Dave & John: Two wild and crazy guys." (rejected for the same reason as the last), and followed by "Hans and Frans want to pump you up." (rejected as too obscure by our panel of experts).

Making it an easy decision to use the ‘Tarzan’ caption your left.
