September 12, 2011: "You’re from Joisey?"

Concept:
Normally, we’d have identified the key attribute of the featured item, which in the case of this nice New Jersey Copper might be its unusually sharp and well centered strike.

But while that is quite unusual for this Maris variety (43-d), it didn’t seem especially inspiring from an ad copy perspective. So instead we went with an homage to NJ using this famous (or infamous) Joe Piscopo line first delivered on Saturday Night Live in 1981. (As an aside, note that Piscopo was referring to the Garden State Parkway, and the first person to email us and tell us exactly what current exit is closest to the mint which produced this coin, we will post that information here, give you full credit, and send you a free CRO hat).

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
Trying to figure out a way to get this idea into a relatively brief ad proved challenging, with the first effort looking as cumbersome as this:

PERSON: Are you from Joisey?
HORSE: Yes.
PERSON: What exit?

But then my wife found the streamlined solution which can be seen in the final ad to your left.
