July 15, 2013: "Got Alpacas?"

Concept:
When I first saw this coin, four things came to mind:

1. Hey, that’s some nice toning!

2. I could have sworn those were actually llamas.

3. They don’t look that big to me.

4. We have no choice but to feature this coin in a CRO ad.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We considered a number of alternatives this week, starting with "Llama, Llama, Llama, Llama." — Carl Wheezer (Editor’s note: of Jimmy Neutron Show fame).

But our panel of experts rightly pointed out that a Llama reference about Alpacas was unsettling, not to mention that it was also (and I quote) "very silly", and so we decided to go high brow instead with the academic "The Alpaca: A member of the Camelid family."

Ultimately, however, we concluded that when presented with a coin this odd, it’s probably best to just keep it simple.

So we did.
