Concept:
As our regular Ad Archive readers well know, we like to use interesting captions in our ads which highlight the most compelling attribute of the featured item. Doubly so if said caption is 1) A concept we’ve never, ever used before and 2) Seems like something that if not used presently, may never find another suitable CRO ad application.

Which explains why we have adopted the memorable lyrics from this mid-19th century spiritual song to aptly describe the unexpected chariot on the reverse of this lovely and extremely rare silver pattern Great Britain farthing.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We briefly considered alternatives based on other famous chariot references, including the fine film Chariots of Fire and a more obtuse reference to the extremely entertaining chariot race scene in Ben-Hur, before deciding that "Sweet Chariot." was just the right tone for this ad.
