Serial Number 9, Plate #D4.  Issued December 15, 1954, Due August 15, 1963.

And now for something completely different, we are pleased to present this interesting and unusual item which is one of a very few surviving U.S. Treasury bonds buyable for less than the $100,000 face value.

This bond was originally purchased by the First National Bank of Boston and stored in their branch in Havana.  Which was a great idea until Fidel Castro came to power.  At which time the U.S. government cancelled this bond.

Despite that adventurous history, this note has survived in lovely condition as indicated by the Choice About New 58 grade conferred by PCGS:

In all, an historic and interesting item with a neat backstory few numismatic items can claim.
