M-NY-495G variety, struck by George Lovett in White Metal.  Considered to be Rarity-8.

One of our favorite issues, this is a neat half-dollar sized piece celebrating the first Trans-Atlantic cable with a depiction of John Bull representing England and Brother Jonathan representing America communicating electronically (as indicated by the lightning bolts) with this charming dialogue shown along the rims:

John Bull:  “How are you Jonathan?”

Brother Jonathan:    “Perty well old feller, heows yerself?”

Here mated to the equally charming Boy and Dog reverse (though we do not recommend riding your dog like a pony as illustrated here).

There are but two known(!) of this variety, both of which are graded MS62 by NGC and both of which have graced this very website in the last few years.

$595
