KM-96.2 variety, struck at the Santiago mint.

Another great design, this with the symbolic condor breaking chains surrounded by the legend “POR LA RAZON Y LA FUERZ” which roughly translates to “By Reason and Force”.

The breaking of chains represents breaking away first from the Spanish monarchy in 1818, and second the resulting dictatorship which ended in 1830. From that point on Chile was a republic.  Who knew?  I did not.

The piece itself is a nice, original, old toned AU.
