February 27, 2023: "We’re Dead Serious"

Concept:
Given the strikingly deathly focus of this weeks featured coin, we figured it would be an excellent vehicle to emphasize that, despite the general light tone and occasional silliness on this site, we our very, very serious about our numismatics. Dead serious even.

As evidenced by the fact that we are on a never ending, non-stop, global search for fantastic examples of cool coins, like this epic 1666 August the Younger Death Taler (complete with a skull at the base of a dead tree) which is finer than any other example we’ve ever seen.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We started with “Quality to Die For.” which kinda worked, though our marketing staff was troubled by that caption ending in a preposition.

So we then tried “Killer Quality.” which we liked, but not as much as the more expansive version in our final ad.
