BD-2 variety, No Stars type. Considered to be Rarity-4.
The popular and rare first quarter eagle design which stands alone in American numismatics as the only use of the Turban Head portrait of Miss Liberty with no obverse stars.
And this was a very short lived issue, with stars added to this design later in the same year after just 963 of these were struck. With a high percentage of those subsequently melted, and many of the survivors cleaned or mis-handled through the years.
Making this lovely, Choice XF with rich original color an extremely rare and desirable example.
