One of the rarest and most sought after type coins in the US series, with a total mintage for 1796 and 1797 combined of a mere 3,918 examples. That’s not very many.

With a good portion of those having been lost to time, while many of the surviving few have been harshly cleaned, damaged, graffitied and/or suffered other indignities through the years.

And while this one is not perfect, it is a PCGS straight-graded, well detailed, relatively affordable, thoroughly representative example of a type that gets enormously expensive as you move up the grading scale.
