Musante GW-09-P2 variety with the erroneous date rendered as MCCLXXVI (1276). Considered to be Rarity-7 with just 8 known.

An historic and extremely rare variant of this series, with the engraver having omitted the Roman numeral D (500) which was to have followed the M (1000), thus displaying a date five hundred years earlier than intended.

This error was apparently quickly corrected after only a small number were struck, as there are just 8 definitively known today.

And this lovely, original piece is the only straight-graded example at PCGS or NGC, and simply has to be among the finest survivors.
