And a look at the population reports for this issue is interesting; this is the only CAM of this date in any grade at NGC, while PCGS has graded just two pieces as CAM in all grades combined (as of 3/07).

As we all know, the pop reports can be misleading in some cases (and completely wrong in others), but in this instance the logical conclusion is that 1872 proof Indian Head Cents are rare and unusual with the cameo contrast seen here.

Whatever the numbers say, this is just a cool coin.
