January 6, 2020: "Be a Glutton"

Concept:
As our loyal readers will know, we’ve employed rhyming captions in our ads many times through the years.

With some coins offering multiple rhyming alternatives, others – like this one – with one definitive rhyme.

Fortunately for us, that one rhyme was a good one, readily usable by us to invite the reader to go after this fantastic, all original, golden brown 1787 Connecticut ‘Muttonhead’ Copper in a catchy and memorable way.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We knew we were going to go with some form of a Glutton-Mutton caption, the first salvo being “It’s OK to be a Glutton for this Mutton.” which we instantaneously rejected for being waaaaay too timid.

So we scrapped the “It’s OK” part and went with the more direct caption in our final ad.
