April 18, 2016: "Cap Off Your Collection"

Concept:
When we acquired this lovely, original 1794 Cent we knew it would be in an upcoming ad, and knew it would be with a caption something like this, because this coin truly is a deluxe, blue chip, CAC-tacular collection capper.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
While we liked the collection capper angle from day one, we took a brief detour into a color story employing the seldom encountered ‘moose (a numismatic slang for a superb coin) / mousse (pudding)’ play on words with the delicious "Chocolate Mousse".

And while that seemed appropriate, this coin seems to us more golden than chocolate brown, making the chocolate theme mildly misplaced, and thus just not the right time to use it.

Which allowed us to back up and then go forward with the original collection cap caption seen in our final ad.
