February 23, 2026: "Chariot of Fire"

Concept:
We viewed this ad as a rare opportunity in that we very seldom feature any coins with chariots on them. In fact the last one would have been the Pattern Silver Farthing in our “Sweet Chariot.” ad was back in 2013.

So of course our guest author was more than ready to describe this cool, beautifully toned, modern Italian 10 Lira with another perfectly appropriate chariot tagline.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We originally planned to go with a straight horse / no chariot route, with something like “Gift Horse.“, or a “A Horse of a Different Color.”, both of which are well known set phrases that we thought worked well in this context.

Until we remembered that there were two (2) horses featured on this coin, requiring the use of a plural which would have ruined both captions.
