Concept:
This incredibly popular design originated on the well known 1781 Libertas Americana Medal which is 1) 95 years older than our piece, 2) About 70x more expensive in this superb gem grade and 3) 2.5x larger in diameter.

The last point of which we decided to highlight in this ad.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
Our first effort this week was based on a 1980s Miller Lite ad with “All the great taste of a Libertas Americana Medal, but less filling.” But we decided that was just too indirect to be readily understandable.

So we next tried the more literal Apple Computer-lexicon inspired “Libertas Americana Mini.”

And we were about to use that, until MaryAnn came up with the travel size version in our final ad.
