May 18, 2015: "Deerly Beloved"

Concept:
There are only a few issues in the American numismatic series with a Deer on them, including the Higley Coppers (and some related tokens), and the couple of New Jersey Copper varieties bearing this distinctive ‘Deer Head’ obverse.

So of course when we obtained this lovely, chocolate brown XF example, we knew we had to highlight it by unleashing a delightfully Deer-centric ad in CoinWorld.

Captions that Didn’t Make the Cut:
Thanks to one or our prolific guest authors, we had several deer-ific options to choose from, including "It’s Deer season!"and "En-Deer-ing!".

And while we thought those were excellent alternatives, we ended up going with the caption in our final ad, but only after first rejecting it as too ‘funereal’, before realizing it was actually ‘matrimonial’ instead (and thus positive enough to use).
