May 4, 2009: "Do for you?"

Concept:
The goal this week was to celebrate this classic piece of early copper and to revel in its ‘brownness’.

Which we think this caption does quite well thank you.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
The best alternative we had was the familiar Milk ad ripoff:

"Got copper?"

But we’ve seen that idea used before by so many companies in so many different industries that we decided it just wasn’t fresh enough for CRO.

So when my son Steven walked by and blurted out the eventual winner (itself a familiar tagline, but one which has not yet been parodied to death), we jumped all over it.

We also immediately promoted Steven from ‘Unpaid IT Director’ to ‘Unpaid IT Director and Marketing Consultant’, the role at CRO which comes with the biggest perk of all: Author credit here in the Ad Archive.
