October 21, 2019: "Eye Candy"

Concept:
The All-Seeing Eye motif in the center of the obverse of this Nova Constelatio type lends itself nicely to eye related captions, such as this tried and true “Eye Candy.” number. Especially when describing the nice, original, old holdered piece shown here.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
Our first thought this week was “Eye Appeal.”, but then we remembered we ran that very caption way back in January of 2009. As an aside, sort of neat to think we’ve been at this that long and still not running duplicates, isn’t it?

Anyway, we decided to go with the next best thing this time, which actually might be the best thing, since 10 years on we like this one even better.

The only other alternative this week was to use the obverse close up photo in the ad and thus make the Eye more obvious. But we concluded that showing the old holder was preferable.
