March 7, 2016: "Finest Morgan Since Fairchild"

16 03 07

Author:
J. Agre

Concept:
One might assume that every conceivable variation on a Morgan Dollar ad has been attempted by some coin dealer or other through the years. To which we respond with a resounding "I don’t think so!".

And then prove that point with this SNL’s Jon Lovitz-as-Tommy-Flanāgan-inspired Morgan Fairchild caption which in our view suitably celebrates our superb über-gem proof dollar.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
The only alternative considered this week was to go ‘Full Flanāgan’ by adding his signature catch phrase at the end:

"Finest Morgan since Fairchild (who I’ve seen Naked)"
— Tommy Flanāgan, SNL, 1987

I don’t think we would have actually used that caption, nor do I think CoinWorld would have allowed it, but we never got the chance to find out since my wife put the kibosh on that one right quick.
