January 12, 2009: "FUN 2009 Part 2 of 3"

Concept:
The second of our collection-highlighting, awareness-boosting, FUN Show-timed ads, this featuring the cool quarters from the DAyers5000 collection.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
This one was harder, as we first had to figure out how to describe this collection. You see, it is registered at PCGS in multiple categories, with names like "Early Quarters with Major Varieties and 1827 Proof, Circulation Strikes (1796-1838)", which is frankly a mouthful, and waaaaay too many words for a slick ad. So we abridged it.

Which then created the problem of how to describe its Registry ranking, since we couldn’t very well truncate the collection name, and then announce this was the "Number 1 Finest Set of All Time!" (which it actually is in some categories) without looking like we were dishing hyperbole like crazy in CW. So we opted for the more tame ‘Award Winner’ language.

And we think the end result wasn’t half bad.
