July 1, 2019: "Gold CAC Attack"

Concept:
It’s well known among Seated Dollar aficionados that CAC is very tough on on this series, and the overall CAC rate, while unpublished, is alarmingly low. We’d guess it’s less than 15%. Of the one’s that have passed muster, CAC’s own census shows that they have stickered a grand total of 2,277 mint state and proof Seated Dollars: 2,250 with green stickers, and 27 (a microscopic 1.2%) with gold stickers. So the fact that our choice 1860-O has one of these gold stickers is something worth highlighting.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We thought about playing up the 1.2% angle, but struggled to shoehorn it into a concise and clear caption. To wit: “Fun Fact: CAC has stickered 2,277 Seated Dollars, but only 1.2% got a Gold sticker.” Attempts to shorten it became even less elegant: “A true one percenter (one of the 1% of CAC’ed Seated Dollars to be awarded a Gold sticker).”

So we decided to abandon that effort and go with the punchy, less explanatory caption in our final ad.
