September 6, 2013: "Green Giant"

Concept:
Though we are very familiar with this cool, old and rarely seen slab type, and have handled a few of them through the years, we have to keep in mind that many people have never seen one before (as evidenced by the fact that we get a lot of "Hey! What the heck is that????" questions).

So when featuring this interesting, scarce and significantly undergraded Liberty Head Eagle, we decided to highlight the giant Regency slab in as catchy a way as possible.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
Our first effort was "Graded when men were men and slabs were enormous and green.", which we then rejected based on it being mildly sexist, slightly controversial and frankly too long to fit comfortably in this ad.

Which led us to "Jolly Green Giant.", which the staff here immediately liked except for the loud faction which could not get their collective head around the use of the word ‘jolly’ in the context of an ad for a coin.

So we edited that out, and the rest is history.
