Concept:
With XXL good tidings we present our ninth annual CRO holiday ad, this year featuring what we believe is the coolest decorated Pine Tree Shilling ever to appear on a numismatic website. Ever. E-V-E-R.

Captions (or illustrations) that didn’t make the cut:
We decided this year to return to our roots and do a remake of our first holiday ad, the 2007 version, which was, due to your author’s limited technical skills, not nearly as inspired as the current one.

And while we considered alternative coins as starting points, and alternative decorations, we knew we were going with this basic theme.
