May 21, 2007: "Hi Ho Silver!"

Concept:
This week’s challenge was to make it crystal clear that the Fugio pictured in our black and white ad (which would look to all the world to be just a regular old copper one) was actually one of the rare pieces struck in silver.

Which we felt could be best accomplished by coming up with some sort of unbelievably clever silver reference in our caption.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
The alternatives this week were frankly pretty lame, including "The only Fugio suitable for giving as a 25th Anniversary gift."

Which we felt was not only lame, it was cumbersome AND required further explanation (none of which are good things for a witty caption).

Which led us to the final version, though not before we struggled with what the exact phrase should be.

We thought it might be "Hi Yo Silver.", but some research indicated that "Hi Ho Silver." was the phrase actually uttered by the Lone Ranger, so of course we had to go with that.
