November 21, 2011: "Hippophiles Rejoice!"

Concept:
Actually, this caption sort of sprung up by accident, since we originally wrote this line while crafting a silly description of this coin for the website. Since of course this piece, with its totally cool though slightly out of proportion rendering of a horse, should cause horse lovers (i.e. hippophiles) to celebrate (perhaps just a little).

This ad is also notable as our first to use an image of a coin in a pronged holder, which is something we have resisted to date since it interrupts the elegant white space around the coin in our ad format. But given the increasing use of these holders by both PCGS and NGC, we figured we’d have to cross that bridge eventually.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
One of our customers suggested "Anatomically correct, but frankly not very impressive.", but that seemed wholly inappropriate for a family website.

So we did not use it.
