February 10, 2014: "Huddle with this Mass"

Concept:
Knowing that these Massachusetts state coppers are often referred to by their shortened name ‘Mass Half Cent’, we of course tried very, very hard to find a clever phrase or saying with the word ‘mass’ in it.

Which proved to be far more challenging that we expected, yielding unhelpful phrases like ‘Mass spectromoter’ and ‘Mass media’ (and several others which were even worse than that).

But then, when nearly all hope was lost, we turned to the Statue of Liberty’s own ‘Huddled Masses’ in this plea to our readers to huddle (i.e. get close to) this charming, original 1788 Half Cent.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
Our only other remotely serviceable alternative was "Call quick to avoid the inevitable Mass hysteria.", which we are delighted not to have used in this ad.
