1795 Lib Cap 1c Pittman Ad Color

Concept:
The interesting thing about this coin (aside from the fact that it’s a beautiful, original Large Cent from 1795) is that it is pedigreed to the Pittman collection.

We decided that was a compelling point and the right theme for our ad.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
This was the first time we actually tried the "Mmmmm, chocolate." caption, but in this case it didn’t work. The coin isn’t chocolate – it’s lustrous and partly mint red – and so we thought making the chocolate analogy in a black and white ad would confuse and mislead the reader (in addition to doing a disservice to the coin).

So we decided against that.
