Concept:
Another serious coin, another opportunity to go with some serious numismatic content.

Such as highlighting the fact that the U.S. mint only made 3,035 of these quarter eagles. Of which only a small fraction survive, with this lovely Choice AU example housed in an old PCGS slab and blessed by CAC surely among the most desirable of them.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
The only issue this week was making sure we had never run this caption before with a different 1802/1 $2.5, since it honestly sounded sort of familiar. Alas, that can happen after fifteen years of non-stop ad caption writing, but it did not in this case.
