November 19, 2007: "Living Color"

Concept:
Remember back in the 1960s when TV shows first changed from black and white to color? I do – they all used to have a goofy looking blurb during the credits which said something to the effect of ‘Now Brought to You in Living Color’ written in multi-colored letters.

I always liked that. And I thought it was perfectly appropriate for our first ad in the new, magazine-like full color CoinWorld format (you will also note that this ad is slightly different in size than our previous efforts based on the magazine’s new dimensions).

And, of course, featuring a coin with electric ‘living color’ toning seemed perfectly appropriate.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We never considered anything other than this idea, though we did experiment with different combinations of letter colors to make it look just right. Where else can you find this sort of attention to detail?
