October 6, 2025: "Mahouts Rejoice"

25-10-06A

Author:
J. Agre

Concept:
Revisiting our well-received “Hippophiles Rejoice!” ad from waaaaay back in 2011, we saw an opportunity here to use the same concept of an obscure word married to a cool coin.

With the idea being that our readers would hover over the caption, read it multiple times, and possibly go look it up in their gigantic Oxford English Dictionary.

And if they did, they would read that a mahout is a a keeper and driver of an elephant, and thus a person who would be delighted by this lovely, original, choice uncirculated chocolate brown Elephant Token housed in an old PCGS slab.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We considered “The Elephant, Man.“, but decided that that was both too simple, and slightly off-putting.

So it was an easy choice to scrap it.
