November 5, 2007: "Mmmmmmm"

Concept:
As mentioned a few weeks ago in this archive, this is an idea we’ve had for a while, and we were just waiting for the right time and the right coin to unleash it. And that time is now.

The coin is really pleasing and the color is the quintessential chocolate brown that EACers and copper specialists want, so we simply had no choice but to run this caption.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
The other idea we were testing was based on this being a one-year type coin, and thus always in demand and of particular interest to type collectors.

And our ideas ranged from the literal: “Is there a more interesting thing in numismatics than the one-year type coin?"

To the obtuse: “Not all 18th century one-year type coins cost more than a new automobile."

To the ‘some assembly required’: “We’d have thought the relationship with Miss Liberty would have lasted more than just one year."

I guess that explains why we picked the chocolate idea.
