July 7, 2014: "Poptopular"

Concept:
We don’t often harp on pop reports, or frankly even cite this information in our website listings, mostly because we feel it commoditizes coins and implies that every example of a particular grade is equally desirable. A notion that is, in our experience, seldom the case.

But this time we felt it was the right move, mostly because this 67+ quarter actually is a superb coin, and one of just a handful at this lofty level. Making it a popular pop top, or a "Poptopular" in CRO parlance.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
The only issue this week was figuring out how to write this caption. Should it be "Pop-topular."? Or perhaps "Poptop-ular."? Heck, it could even be "Pop-top-ular."

In the end, we decided that since we made up this word, we could write it any way we want. And we wanted to make it as simple and hyphen-free as possible.

So that’s what we did.
