Concept:
One of the most frequently requested items on want lists sent to us is any coin that bears a 1700s date, so we figured we’d give the public what they want.

And it is pretty cool when you think about it – and guaranteed to impress your non-collector friends when they see those magical first two digits.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We knew we were going to go with this concept, but there was more consternation than usual about the exact wording.

Should the century be written like this: 1700s? Or like this: 1700’s? I found both online, but opted for the no apostrophe version.

And should it be "The 1700s are calling."? or "The 1700s are calling you."?

It may sound trivial to you, but we spend a lot of time trying to get the details just right because we are perfectionists, and one errant letter or word would cause us to lose sleep, making us less sharp the following day and inevitably causing us to miss a good numismatic opportunity.

Trivial? Ha.
