March 5, 2012: "Tip Your Cap"

Concept:
Formulaically, this week we decided to highlight this lovely, original, chocolate brown XF 1794 Liberty Cap Cent with a predictable (but sufficiently memorable that we used it anyway) ‘Cap’ caption.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We started this week’s effort (possibly because the ad submission deadline happened to fall on Valentine’s Day) with a number of chocolate inspired ideas.

Beginning with the delicious "100% Pure Milk Chocolate." Unfortunately, that was deemed to be ‘not ground breaking’ by our focus groups, who invited us to go back to the drawing board and try again.

Which is where we came up with "It’s a chocolate mousse!".

And while we did not think that last one was too bad, we decided to save that for some future chocolate colored copper coin, and instead use a caption more specifically tailored to the Liberty Cap Cent in this week’s ad (but only after removing Liberty Cap from the coin name so as to avoid ‘Cap’ overload).
