April 4, 2011: "We Buy Colonials"

Concept:
If you are having a strong feeling of déjà vu here it is because we ran a very similar ad back in January to reinforce the fact that we are very, very, very interested to buy nice colonial coins.

In fact, I am confident to say that we’ll pay more than anyone else for pieces we like, including type coins and rare varieties, raw or slabbed, in all grades from Good to Gem. We especially like coins with choice, original surfaces and good color, but when it comes to really rare pieces, we’ll take what we can get and pay top dollar for all of them.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
This time it was not the caption options we considered, but instead the coin pictures, since we definitely did not want to simply reuse the same ones as last time (what fun is that?).

Still, we wanted to go with very recognizable pieces that scream "colonial", and, after careful consideration, went with the superb Continental Dollar, Nova Constellatio and Fugio seen in this ad. But not until we studied the actual diameter of these coins, and then made sure that they all appeared in the ad correctly sized relative to one another.

Where else are you going to find that kind of attention to detail?
