February 4, 2019: "I’d Like to Buy a ‘G’ Please"

Concept:
This has always been one of our favorite issues, with the glaring ‘how could they have possibly have missed that?‘ omission of the 2nd ‘G’ in GEORGIVS. A feature which is especially bold on this superb, original gem with as much mint red remaining as we have ever seen on this type.

Which we decided to highlight with a letter-seeking caption inspired, of course, by an episode of Wheel of Fortune.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
Our first effort this week was the truncated “I’d like to buy a ‘G’ Please.”

And while that could have worked, we thought the addition of ‘Pat‘ at the end was necessary to more clearly communicate our game show intent.

Of course regular viewers of that fine program will know that you can actually only buy vowels, not consonants, but we figured that was an acceptable liberty to take in the context of a CRO ad.

So we did.
