An old friend we first acquired from a seller in the Netherlands about 15 years ago and sold to collector extraordinaire Syd Martin.

Then and now it is among the best examples of this denomination we’ve ever seen with a razor sharp obverse knight, a bold rampant lion and excellent eye appeal for an issue that is often weak, unevenly struck and generally unappealing.

So of course we bought it back in the recent Martin auction.
