Newman 1-A, Breen-179, W-1390 variety, one of the famous rarities in the colonial series with not more than 20 pieces known.

And we’ve handled 3 of those in the last 7 years, including the very dark Ford coin which graded PF66 by PCGS despite a few old fingerprints, and a second example graded PF64 by PCGS due to a few scattered lines.

Of the three, we’d choose this one as it is more original than either, with better color than Ford’s and retains some original mint red on the reverse lacking on either of those specimens.

There may be a couple of better ones out there somewhere, but if they ever do come to market they are certain to be very, very expensive.
