Just sort of a cool thing we picked up, tangentially related to the US series in that small numbers have turned up on this side of the pond, and the obverse of this type was also used on the Virginia Shilling (as shown in our 3rd photo).

This connection, plus the historic 1776 date make this a piece well worth owning in our opinion.

The coin itself is a lovely light gold with no defects or damage of any kind – just smooth, even wear.
