Breen-1139, Betts-562 ‘No Wreath’ variety, struck in Brass.
A beautiful, totally original example of this impressive token and, as such, a pretty hard thing to find in this modern market. It seems most every one of these offered these days has been cleaned or dipped or otherwise corrupted through the years. Many are mottled, or spotted, or just plain ugly.
But not this one.
Perfectly centered, nicely struck, with a lovely original patina and wonderful mellowed golden brass color on the obverse and reverse. Just some light even wear commensurate with the grade, and not a single post-minting mark or spot of note.
