Ryder-1 variety, considered to be Rarity-6.

A muling of a crude obverse die of American origin with the refined Immune Columbia reverse engraved in England.  The result of which is one of the most sought after coins in the Vermont series, and an issue which seldom appears on the market in any grade.

But when it does, examples tend to be struck on flawed planchets (often hideously so), with cracks and fissures, or in low grade (as here).

This one is actually quite pleasing for the grade, with smooth even wear and surfaces which while far from perfect, are better than many we’ve seen.

In all, a presentable and collectible example of a very rare coin.
